reported results.
The pronounced increase in Scope 3, Category 2 emissions primarily re昀氀ect the integration of newly acquired entities into the Micro Matic Group, combined with the renewal of selected equipment and signi昀椀cant investments in IT
infrastructure and a new ERP system. In parallel, year-on-year methodological re昀椀nements—speci昀椀cally the reduction of extrapolations and increased use of activity-based calculations—have improved coverage and granularity
and may increase reported emissions in the short term.
Consistent with prior years, the largest contributions within Scope 3 are observed in Scope 3, Category 1 (Purchased Goods and Services) and Scope 3, Category 11 (Use of Sold Products), followed by Scope 3, Category 6
(Business travels).
Variations in Scope 3, Category 1 are mainly driven by changes in the cost base for materials and labour, as well as
the inclusion of Micro Matic Oprema in the Group. As this entity manufactures refrigerators and coolers, their operations are associated with substantial use of metal-intensive inputs. Scope 3, Category 11 (Use of Sold Products)
remains elevated, as the underlying product portfolio is broadly unchanged; however, a larger share of production is
now performed internally.
The reduction in employee commuting emissions is associated with an increasing share of electric vehicles and
the option to work remotely where operationally feasible.
Reducing emissions in Scope 3, Category 1 requires both a shift toward lower-emission raw material 昀氀ows (e.g., prioritizing suppliers and materials with lower emission intensity) and improved, Group-wide data capture on material
types and quantities. A structured life cycle assessment (LCA) approach is expected to be a key enabler of this
transition and forms part of our longer-term roadmap.
Scope 3, Category 11 emissions are largely driven by energy use during the use phase of products with long operational lifetimes, such as refrigerators and freezers. Further improvements in this category depend on strengthening
product data management—speci昀椀cally, identifying all relevant electrical equipment in the product database and
collecting reliable energy consumption parameters. The overall downward tendency is in昀氀uenced by decreasing
grid emission factors in many markets, ongoing improvements in product energy e昀케ciency, and shifts in the mix
of models sold. Reductions in Scope 3, Category 11 therefore require continued development of energy-e昀케cient
engineering solutions and the scaling of energy-saving product designs. The geographical sales mix also materially
affects results: sales into markets with lower electricity emission factors reduce the associated life cycle CO2e
emissions over the products’ use phase.
The increase in Scope 3, Category 6 emissions is primarily attributable to higher business travel activity associated
with the addition of new sites to the Group. In the integration phase, in-person engagement supports alignment on
processes, knowledge transfer, and critical commercial activities. Emission reductions in this category is requiring
a stronger emphasis on lower-carbon travel modes, optimized travel planning, and collaboration with travel service
providers offering lower-emission alternatives. As integration stabilizes, travel volumes are expected to normalize,
enabling the implementation of more strategic travel management measures.
In 2024-2025, the Micro Matic Group continued to pursue ambitious, Group-level greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions
reduction objectives. The Company further embedded environmental initiatives into core business activities by delivering ongoing projects and identifying additional opportunities, thereby supporting progress toward established
CO2e reduction targets. Across the year, sites implemented measures to reduce emissions, including increased use
of sustainable transportation solutions, installation of EV charging infrastructure, optimization of lighting, heating
and water consumption, and expanded procurement of renewable electricity. Collectively, these actions support Micro Matic’s Group-wide decarbonization trajectory. To accelerate progress and improve consistency across entities,
we plan to develop a Group decarbonization strategy that
